Insulation Installation
Why is insulation important? Not only does insulation keep your home at a comfortable temperature for you and your family, installing it can save you serious money on home energy expenditure. Home guides across the web advise homeowners to insulate to save up to thousands of dollars in electricity per year — in fact, insulating your home can lower your energy bill by a whopping 20%.
Insulation does its job by trapping still air. Once it has been walked on, wet by a roof leak, or soaked by rodent urine, it compacts and stops trapping anything. Adding a fresh layer on top of dead material buys you the thickness without the performance.
We remove the failed material, bag it and haul it out, then inspect the deck and framing that has been hidden underneath it — which is where roof leaks and pest damage are usually discovered.
The ceiling of your home is full of holes you cannot see: recessed light cans, plumbing and wiring penetrations, the top plates of interior walls, bath fan housings and the attic hatch itself. Warm air escapes through them and pulls attic air into the house behind it.
Sealing those penetrations before insulating is what makes the insulation perform the way its label says. Insulation slows heat; it does not stop air. Skipping this step is the most common reason a re-insulated attic disappoints.
Insulation is sold by R-value, and R-value in a blown attic is a function of installed depth. A crew that blows in less material than the bag count calls for leaves you with a number on paper and a colder ceiling in reality.
We set depth markers across the attic before we start blowing so the coverage can be verified afterwards by anyone, including you, with nothing more than a flashlight.
Attic Heroes has staff with over a decade of accumulated experience installing insulation. The service will meet your standards, be performed quickly and cost less than you expect — we want protecting your home and your wallet to be as easy as possible.

Frequent questions
Sometimes, when the existing material is dry, clean and simply thin. When it is compacted, wet or contaminated, adding on top hides the problem instead of fixing it. The evaluation tells us which case yours is.
Around 20% of a home's energy use is the figure widely cited for a properly insulated home. The real number depends on your ceiling area, what is up there now and how your system runs. We tell you what we find, not what sells.
Blown-in fills irregular attic floors and gets around wiring and framing without gaps. Batts belong where the cavity is regular and accessible — knee walls, some vaulted assemblies. We use whichever the attic actually is.
